Hose Bus Vacuum System

 Information

Robertson Air Systems 4" Hose Bus Vacuum System with Custom Designed Hose Reel.

Robertson Air Systems, utilizing our 21 years of experience in the bus vacuuming industry, has developed our hose bus vacuuming system with an automatic hose festoon. The system provides unsurpassed vacuum power (13,000 feet per minute pick-up air velocity) that does the work where it counts as objects are literally swept into the  lance opening as it passes near objects. The duct connection between the flexduct and the collector is also oversized to pass large objects and eliminates the possibility of plugging while continuing to maintain the needed material conveying velocities

High Efficient Cyclone Collector

The other design feature unique to our hose bus vacuum system is the use of a highly efficient (99.9 % down to 50 microns) cyclone that does not require the use of cartridges or filters. Cartridges and filters are known to regularly plug (especially when vacuuming up water), require constant maintenance, and create a substantial system pressure loss

Automatic Hose Festooning

Robertson Air System recommends the use an automatic hose festoon at the bus front and rear doors. Automatic hose festoon systems do the following:

Provide immediate hose availability

Reduces the time and motion needed to press control buttons.

Eliminates the need for remote control transmitter handset handling.

Simplifies and eases hose handling by keeping the hose off the bus floor.

Other System Components

Lance Mounted Controls Robertson Air Systems is the only company to provide operators the benefit of lance mounted finger touch control as a time saving option in the bus vacuuming procedure. The operator simply presses the push button located on the lance handle to turn on the vacuum system and/or feed and retract the hose.

Vacuum Blower A direct driven high pressure blower that will produce a 13,000 fpm pick up velocity at the lance opening

Trash Container The trash containers are customized for each facility.

Electrical Enclosure Nema 12 electrical enclosure with main disconnect, magnetic motor starters, programmable controller, and remote control power supply and mother board.

Hose Lance The hose lance is also designed exclusively by Robertson Air Systems and is constructed of light weight aluminum tubing.

The lance front and rear sections are supported by the operator’s forward and back arms as shown. The gray union swivel between the two sections provides 360 degrees of rotation to allow easy access to all areas of the bus.

We have summarized the advantages of the Robertson Air Systems hose bus vacuum system as follows:

  1. More Vacuum Power: The volume of air that can pass through the hose combined with the high pressure generated by the blower produces a vacuum power, resistant to plugging, never before seen in hose bus vacuum systems.   The 13,000 fpm pick up velocity at the lance opening produces a sweeping action that reaches out (3" to 5") and grabs objects.  The average bus floor surface area can be covered in approximately 1 1/2 minutes.
  2. Simple Design: The cyclone, structure, trash container, blower, and hose reel come as a complete package with only a 5' 6" square foot print for one lane systems and 9' x 7' foot print for multiple lane systems. The cyclone has been sized for maximum efficiency (99.8% efficient down to 50 microns) with no cartridges or filters that commonly plug and require maintenance.
  3. Automatic Hose Festoon:  Reduces the time and motion needed to quickly obtain and manage the hose, enter and exit the bus, and control the vacuum system and the hose feed and retract functions.

We look forward to working with facility superintendents or project engineers to assist in the design layout of a Robertson Air Systems hose bus vacuum system in your facility. We ask you to provide a plan of your facility, the power available, and the number of lanes being used. We will provide a proposed installation plan with specifications utilizing our engineering skills and expertise
