System Report:

The City of Norwalk project engineer contacted us in March of 1994 and requested assistance in designing a hose bus vacuum system for their new Metro link Station. Robertson Air Systems responded and utilized our over 40 years of air handling and 11 years bus vacuuming system experience to design a state-of-art 4" Hose Bus Vacuum System.

We had closely monitored hose style bus vacuum systems for many years and observed that the overwhelming majority had unfortunately been failures for the following reasons:

No user friendly "finger touch" feed/rewind hose handling control from inside the bus. Mechanical failure of light duty hose reels and counter balance systems. Hose plugging and collapsing. Multiple wrapping of hose around the hose reel contributed to hose collapsing. The hose was sized too small for bus trash.

The Robertson Air Systems 4" hose bus vacuum system designed and installed for the City of Norwalk Metro link Station over came all of the above difficulties and has operated virtually flawlessly since the June 1995 start-up.
